Greenwork - "on the brink" quilt pattern
Here's your chance to use all those beautiful batik and hand dyed fabrics you've been collecting or maybe it's a great reason to start your collection.
Measuring 68" square, Greenwork - " On The Brink" quilt features nine embroidered blocks of threatened or endangered species: Bison, Manatee, Florida Panther, Blue Whale, Sonoran Pronghorn Antelope, Houston Toad, Gray Wolf, Sea Turtle and Grizzly Bear.
If you don't have a good stash of batik or hand dyed fabrics, you may want to use fat quarters to achieve the most variety in colors, value and scale.You'll use various techniques to put this quilt together such as, paper foundation piecing, easy half-square triangles and simple embroidery. Full-size foundation patterns included with directions.
Blocks for the land animals are bordered with paper-pieced trees, and the water dwelling creatures are surrounded by ocean waves borders.You could also make a 3 or 4 block version.
